Captain Cactus
Rooted on the hilltop
above the city lights
Captain Cactus surveyed the land
Not much has changed
they still walk around
on two legs
and I on
one

making her way
to a clearing
she waved
at the Raven
over head

Sea Dragon
Rising up from the bottom
of the kelp forest,
the sea dragon rides
a thick canopy of kelp
as it moves and stretches
back and forth,
she guards her home
with fiery eyes
and a breath of hot flames.
It is the year of the dragon.

a switch is turned
darkness,
the night returns
